The Garden Experience is a delicious opportunity for your gift recipient to access my design skills and ideas in their own garden.*. It lasts three hours and comprises a two and a half hour session in the garden followed by a thirty minutes Zoom call shortly afterwards.

We’ll look at the current layout, what’s working, what’s not, and discuss whatever is concerning the garden owner.  She might be wondering how to change the layout she’s inherited that just doesn’t work for her and her family, lift the planting and add year round interest, for instance, or have a particular spot that could be so much better.  

One of the classic things I meet is that the shed occupies that precious spot where it would be lovely to catch the last rays of the sun with a glass of wine. Or, even, annoyingly, acts as a focus for the whole space. Or the garden is essentially a boring rectangular lawn and brown fence. The owner is aware that so much more is possible but doesn’t know how to start.   Perhaps the garden is on a slope, or has a change of level that flummoxes her.

Whatever the situation, or state of the garden I’ll throw myself whole-heartedly into helping her solve the problem and make the best of it.  .  

*Because I visit the garden and because I’m looking after my own wellbeing I only offer The Garden Experience in gardens up to 40 minutes drive from me (OX10).  The areas around Henley, Marlow, Reading, Oxford, Amersham and parts of Hampshire all fall into that radius.
